So this post was written, scheduled, and set to post automatically this morning, while I slumbered, but I had to come in and make a teeeeensy little edit before bed:
Ohmigosh, people, I’m going to BlogHer Food!
(Not that I care that much, you know. *squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee*!)
Anyway, back to today’s post, with that minor addition made.
Hope you’ll join me for some of these fun events if you’ll be in my area at the time. (As an aside, if Omnivore continues their current trend, they will soon have a different author speaking every day, twice a day, and drive themselves to an early grave, but let’s get in on the fun while it’s available! Among the things I’m not going to there but would, given unlimited time and energy: Tyler Florence; Sarabeth Levine; etc.)
There are LOTS more events (including online events for the foodie world) at the Events tab, but these are the ones I’m sure I’m attending:
Sunday, October 3rd: Mom Food Dinner: Ham & pineapple gravy
More details at the Events tab or RSVP at the Contact page.
Friday, October 8th, and Saturday, October 9th: BlogHer Food ’10, San Francisco
I’ll be live-blogging the conference. More details on that soonish.
I’m a hardcore introvert, which should tell you how much I’ve been wanting to go to this conference. Two days in the city, with a bunch of strangers? Yeah, not usually my speed, but I’m realllllly looking forward to this.
I’ve been blogging since 2001, and I post a lot to my personal blog/journal, but this blog is different. My personal journal is, well, personal in a way, even though it’s public, and I do whatever I want with it, and it doesn’t feel in any way like public property. This blog, though—It’s collaborative, and organized, and I am really looking forward to finding ways to make it better, and to meeting some of the amazing bloggers I’ve been fangirl-squeeing over for years.
So look out, BlogHer Food, here I come!

Saturday, October 16th: Dorie Greenspan at Omnivore Books.
More info at their events page. If you buy the book from a link you find on this blog, 100% of our proceeds will go to the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
This is the book I’ll be cooking from for the French Fridays with Dorie blog event; more information on that event may be found at frenchfridayswithdorie.com; my own contributions will appear under the French Fridays category here.
You may find Ms. Greenspan at her website/blog, her Facebook page, or her Twitter feed, @doriegreenspan.

Wednesday, October 27th: Madhur Jaffrey at Omnivore Books.
More info at their events page. If you buy the book from a link you find on this blog, 100% of our proceeds will go to the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
Madhur Jaffrey writes wonderful, clear recipes for Indian and other foods one can make at home. I am a huge fangirl, and even though it’ll be a stretch for me to make it to the city twice in a month, I’m gonna go for it.
You may find Ms. Jaffrey at her Twitter feed, @madhursworld
Come if you can. I’d love to see you.

Quite a busy October. You’re a real SITS girl.
I’m really curious about the BlogHer meeting and Dorie Greenspan’s new book.

Wish you could come along! :-)
That’s awesome! I know you’ll be busy blogging and cooking, but if you have a chance to check out San Fran, you MUST! Amazing eateries over there, in particular a place called Cafe Mason that has the most unique creations I have eaten thus far :-)
Visiting from SITS

I’ll be packing my lunches on this trip (all my money’s going to get internet access for the liveblogging), but I’ll write down Cafe Mason and maybe visit another time. I’m a quick BART ride from downtown San Francisco, so I may be able to do it after I get my raise. :-) Thanks!
So excited for you! You’re going to love it. I went last year and had an absolute blast. Enjoy yourself, and excited to read your updates!
