[First, a quick note about our Contributor Chris Hansen, who is going to the hospital this weekend. If you’ve been enjoying his Mertie’s Mondays series of food essays about New England and England, please go find one of his posts and comment, wishing him well. I think he’ll appreciate it. We love you here at The Mom Food Project, Chris; get well soon!]

And now on to one of my very favorite blogs, one I really think you all should be reading:

There are many reasons that Lana at Bibberche (Twitter: @bibberche) is on the very short list of bloggers I just have to read. For one, her writing is stellar. Lana knows how to tell a story, and how to link food and love and history together while doing it.

There are other reasons, though:

Go. Read. I’m guessing you won’t be sorry.

Deflating footballs? Other QBs have already admitted doing it. In fact, one Super Bowl winning QB, Brad Johnson of jordan sale the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, admitted to tipping the ball boys prior to playoffs games in order to get the footballs exactly how he liked them. Other QBs have the equipment guys rub down the laces to wear them out a little. It helps with grip. So why the outrage now? This is the biggest non issue I have ever seen. But Winnipeg is a city that’s a quite small city. In fact, they have the smallest NFL Jerseys China arena in the NHL. But they love their Jets. And the Jets went away. They pulled the team. It was untimely ripped from the Prairie Denizens of Winnipeg. They became cheap oakleys sunglasses the Coyotes of Phoenix. That’s been in shambles. And so for years, Winnipeg wanted a team back. They got a team back. cheap nfl jerseys It’s been four years. They’re in the playoffs. This is their first home game in four years. And I figured why not focus do some focusing on Winnipeg? As the new president of the AFL Players’ Association, their interests are at the front of my mind. The harsh reality is that some of them will go for themselves, their families and, yes, for fake oakleys the money. Players have just as much of a right to secure their financial futures as anyone else in the community. This message is in response to Jnell Chiu. Although I do agree that the Asian population should not be stereo typed by their height or weight, you yourself were being rude and racist. I strongly believe that physical beauty does not come in one race or size. I was so offended when I read what you wrote about the Asian race being the most beautiful. I, myself, am Chicana. Most people would refer me as Hispanic, just incase you were wondering what a Chicana was. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion, but I don’t understand how you can pass judgement on someone, and go on and commit the same inconsiderate mistake. And no offense, but if you were, excuse me, “are” so smart, then you should of used better wording and maybe you shouldn’t of had babbled on over and over about the same thing on more then one paragraph. “He that has no sin, cast the first stone”, right? You should really try not to take things too personally. cheap oakley sunglasses I’m sure the information that was given, was for good intentions, and to purposely offend anybody. He is a former Dutch football player and has also played for FC Barcelona. The most amusing fact associated with Cruyff is that while representing the Netherlands internationally, the Dutch team never lost the match in which Cruyff scored! It was because of him that the Netherlands won the runners up cheap nfl jerseys medal in the 1974 World Cup.

I run The Mom Food Project, which was born out of love for my mom and a desire to preserve the recipes of my childhood, which didn't actually exist in written form until I quizzed my mom and wrote the recipes down.

    1. Yeah, I do the same. When I sit down with some reading time, I see what’s new on a few blogs: Lana’s, Michael Procopio’s, MoftheSea’s (1000 reasons I’m a crap mom), OMG! Yummy, Dorie’s, and of course yours. :-)

  1. Serene, thanks so much for such a beautiful write up:) I am truly touched. I would love to meet you the next time I am visiting my daughter at Cal. Have a wonderful weekend:)
