Follow Friday
Art by Abe and Liina Novy

[Note: Follow Friday is a thing on Twitter where we twitheads let other tweeverts know about great folks they should be following. I decided to do the same thing in my blog on Fridays. A few other people had this idea, too, and I hope it really catches on.  Fawning adoration is SO attractive!]

Now, before you even wonder aloud to your cat “Why on earth is The Mom Food Project choosing a single, childless, gay man’s blog for today’s Follow Friday?” I’ll tell you why.

I mean, besides the fact that I’m his hopeless Twitter-stalking fag hag, of course.  Queer foodies unite!

Ahem. Anyway.

Michael Procopio’s Food for the Thoughtless (subtitle: Over-sharing is over-caring) embodies all of the basic underpinnings of The Mom Food Project. To wit:

He sees the intertwinedness of food, social custom, culture, and humanity (and tells a wonderful story to illustrate it).

He understands the connection between food and emotion and writes about it compellingly.

He shares his love of his family in evocative, moving ways.

He cooks simple, delicious food that my mom would approve of.  Like BLTs with roasted cherry tomatoes and Steak Tartare.

Oh, and let me not forget to mention that he’s funny. I’m always more likely to recommend blogs written by people who amuse me, even if they’re not, strictly speaking, mom food blogs.

Plus, he likes Brini Maxwell.  Don’t even get me started.

You should check out Michael’s blog.  He’s a dear addition to my stable of imaginary internet pals, and he knows what’s real and what’s tasty.

Heh. Peaness.

[Note: Most of the posts I chose to showcase deal with difficult subjects; that says more about me than about Mr. Procopio. He’s deep, but he’s also hilarious.]

1. Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks (Week 3, Sunday, 4:25pm eastern): It’s oakley outlet the rematch of one of the most lethal ass kickings quarterback Peyton Manning has ever been forced to endure. Except that this time it’s taking place in the supersonic jet engine known as CenturyLink Field. The Seahawks hosted two primetime games in cheap authentic jerseys the Pacific Northwest last season (San Francisco and New Orleans), winning both by the combined score of 63 10.If there’s one rule in American sports that is universally fake oakleys despised, it is the National Basketball Association’s stipulation that a player cannot be drafted out of high school, but must put in an extra year playing somewhere invariably at college. It makes a sham of both education and teamwork, and when the best kids are picked up, the policy is properly ridiculed as “one and done.”The thing is, the “from hell” part might actually be literal if you subscribe to the theory that Wonka’s chocolate factory is literally the afterlife. For example, the boat ride? That’s where everyone crosses the river Styx, the border between Earth and the Underworld. The poem Wonka recites during the ride basically confirms it:Brachte sie aus Atlanta. kate spade new york Au?erhalb Louis vuitton outlet der michael kors satchel bags outlets sp?ten Christian Louboutin shoes online Louis Vuitton Sale Krieg Louis Vuitton Store war Louis Vuitton Sunglasses M?nnersache Christian Louboutin online store , Moncler Coats nicht Louis Vuitton Bags Damen , Louis Vuitton Outlet andthey Louis Vuitton Outlet nahm Nike Shoes On Sale ihre free run 2 Haltung barbour jackets als louis vuitton handbags Beweis Louis Vuitton f r Kate Spade Outlet ihre Michael Kors store Weiblichkeit Louis Vuitton Outlet Handbags . Waiting until the end of the trial before we decide on whom that suspicion ought sunglasses gucci to rest, let us now hear the evidence by which the Duparcs and their adherents proceeded to justify their conspiracy against the liberty and the life of a friendless girl.’I would easily eat two pizzas and a litre of wholesale jerseys Coke a day’: Woman’s Cheap NFL Jerseys incredible transformation after losing 42 KILOS in just 10 monthsMelbourne nurse Harshi Suraweera lost 42 kilograms in 10 monthsShe started to lose weight after seeing a photo of herself on replica oakleys FacebookThe 29 year old would do hours of cardio a day and ate lots of saladsSince then she has focused on weight training to tone her figureAfter her transformation not even her mother recognised herByBy contrast, the world’s biggest league, the NFL, drew in excess of 17 million fans to its stadiums in the 2015 regular season. I run The Mom Food Project, which was born out of love for my mom and a desire to preserve the recipes of my childhood, which didn't actually exist in written form until I quizzed my mom and wrote the recipes down.

  2. A lot of us share food to show we care about those we share with. It is sometimes difficult to know what to cook that’s special, when yer budget runs to water and hot dogs. Then doggone it , share them hotdogs with cold water! It might just be a comfort food fer someone and ya didn’t know it! I will eat just about anything once, if I like it, it gets stored in the food trivia bank in the back of my noggin. Pulled out and dusted off every once in a while. Sharing is Magick, no matter the way it’s done. Happy nibbles folks!
