The nice thing about having a basic menu plan to use is that not only don’t I have to spend a lot of time menu planning during a busy week, but I can choose the things from the list that are easiest, to give myself a break from the cooking and cleaning that I normally have time to do.

This week promises to be a little hectic, so we’re taking it easy, cooking-wise, and maybe this will also free me up to edit photos and post some entries about Guy’s Gram’s potato bread and other exciting Momfood/Gramfood stuff.

All these dinners take thirty minutes or less, sometimes LOTS less (the sandwiches literally took me five minutes last time I made them).

Monday: Burritos (using canned refried beans, store-bought fresh salsa); raw veggies on the side
Tuesday: chickpea gravy & potatoes
Wednesday: Udon

Thursday: Caprese sandwiches

Friday: Spaghetti
Saturday: Curry with rice

curried garbanzos, rice, greens

Sunday: Stir-fry with rice

I run The Mom Food Project, which was born out of love for my mom and a desire to preserve the recipes of my childhood, which didn't actually exist in written form until I quizzed my mom and wrote the recipes down.

  1. I need to make a chickpea gravy, sounds good! I also need a menu plan, when I recover from the bake sale I’m on it.
