[OPMF = Other People’s Mom Food]

Yesterday, I read a book. This is not unheard of, but it’s become less usual since I’ve become addicted to food blogs. I love food blogs. Love their photographs. Love their authors’ tendency to poke fun at their own mistakes. Love the love and enthusiasm that shine through. And of course, I love that so many food bloggers are writing about the foods of their childhoods, and the foods they feed the children in their lives.

Some great examples I’ve seen since the last roundup are below. Some are from as far back as December, but still, check them out. I wouldn’t steer you wrong.

CK from Made by Bedtime Tales shares multi-generational gingerbread houses

Dawn over at Hubbell Recipe Box is going to make all the recipes out of her mom’s recipe box, one a week or so. How cool is that?

Another wonderful Bubbe Food post from OMG! Yummy

Zerrin at Give Recipe is all excited. Mom’s here! And making Turkish “Balls with garlic”!

Go check out these wonderful bloggers. They’re part of why I don’t read many books any more.

Author: Serene

I run The Mom Food Project, which was born out of love for my mom and a desire to preserve the recipes of my childhood, which didn't actually exist in written form until I quizzed my mom and wrote the recipes down.

  1. Thanks for the shout out Serene! Loved that post with your daughter. Can’t wait to try the tortilla recipe. Trying to get up enough energy to make the Dorie recipe this AM. Fighting a head cold which is zapping my cooking energy.

But it’s sunny and it’s Friday so it’s all good. Thanks again!

    1. Yeah, I was gonna run out and get the stuff for the bread (I’m out of milk and chives), but I may just call it a day. Took the day off work, and now my head feels like allergens have taken over the place. Let’s rest and enjoy the weekend! :-)

  2. Thank you so much for involving mom’s balls with garlic in your round up! You make me crave for it right now! I can’t wait mom’s next visit.

And now I will go check what other food bloggers in this list have.
